SPEEDRIDING

With skis and a rucksack no bigger than a packed lunch, you set off on new adventures. The sport is called speedriding and has addictive potential. With a glider reduced to the bare minimum, you ski down the steepest mountain slopes and jump over rocks before touching down again and continuing your ski run. Speed riding is the fusion of freeride skiing and paragliding.
The result is a fast-paced sport requiring your full concentration
to make the right decisions quickly. Depending on the terrain and your preferences, you will needmust or less. It doesn't matter whether you're roaring a few centimeters over the surface of the snow or making a big powder turn and then taking off; one thing is guaranteed:
With shining eyes, you will gather up your glider at the bottom and want to start the next run immediately...

INSURANCE
SUVA classifies speed riding as a high-risk sport. Non-occupational accident insurance (NBU) under the UVG covers medical costs, but daily benefits can be reduced by up to 50%.
However, the employer or the accident insurer can take out salary-related differential cover, including for high-risk sports. Those interested in speed riding must obtain confirmation from their accident insurer that the insurance covers speed riding accidents. Legislation in Switzerland refers to speed riding as speed flying.
